Elli Dimitroulakos and Shantae Howell take home Top Women in Media awards

Two of Acast’s employees have been recognized as shining lights in the Top Women in Media awards, making an impact not only within Acast but throughout the entire podcast industry.

First up, Elli Dimitroulakos, Head of Automation in the Americas, was named a Tech Trailblazer — recognizing her dedication to bringing new automation technologies to podcasting.

Despite the immense popularity of podcasts, the rulebook for buying and selling media through automated technology is relatively unwritten. And that’s where Elli comes in. She’s leading the charge for the adoption of programmatic advertising and driving innovation, enhancing the efficacy of media and business operations while advocating for dialogues that bring progress, modernization, and social change.

Joining Elli on the podium was Shantae Howell, Creative Director in the Americas, who was named a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion — celebrating her efforts to amplify underrepresented voices in podcasting.

Shantae drives creativity in podcast advertising in the Americas, leading ideation and production for Acast Creative’s branded and integrated audio-first campaigns throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. But one of the greatest values she brings to the team is her ability to marry her passion for highlighting underrepresented groups with creating authentic brand content — bringing high quality, diverse content to the marketplace.

The Top Women in Media awards, presented by Folio: and AdMonsters, recognize leaders who have made a lasting impact on their brands, organizations and markets, spotlighting the diversity and progress of the broader media industry.

And, if that wasn’t enough, Acast was also honoured at AdExchanger’s Annual Programmatic I/O Conference last month. We were named a finalist in the Innovation in Audio Advertising category at the event’s awards gala, recognizing our trailblazing efforts in programmatic advertising in podcasting.

Our selection as a finalist also acknowledges our work to standardize podcasting — collaborating with the IAB, for example, to ensure podcast companies are compliant with guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office, and proving to DSPs that podcast targeting methods remained in line with TCF 2.0. And, today, Acast is still the only podcast company aligned with all four of the IAB’s Podcast Measurement Guidelines 2.1 metrics.
