14 awards for Acast shows, plus You, Me And The Big C takes Acast Moment Of The Year

Saturday night saw the annual celebration of podcasting in the UK which is the British Podcast Awards.

The big winner of the night was Have You Heard George’s Podcast? by George The Poet. It picked up four gold awards as well as the coveted Podcast Of The Year award. Long standing Acasters Jamie Morton, James Cooper and Alice Levine were presented with the Podcast Champion award by My Dad Wrote A Porno superfan Michael Sheen. Meanwhile the brilliant The Modern Mann scooped Best Interview.

Perhaps the most moving moment of the night came with You, Me and the Big C from BBC Radio 5 Live being recognised as the Acast Moment Of The Year. Rachael Bland, Deborah James and Lauren Mahon’s unique show about dealing with cancer gained massive popularity. When Rachael passed away last year, the impact of the show became even more profound and remains a source of inspiration for many to this day.
